The dongle has become a much-loved gadget for many of us. Being able to just plug it in and get online, regardless of our location, has won the dongle legions of fans.
Now a new piece of kit from Three is opening up the possibilities offered by your dongle – by turning it into a Wi-Fi hotspot that can connect up to five devices at once.
The ZTE MF10 Dongle Adaptor, or Mobile Broadband Wi-Fi Hub, gives dongle-users the benefits already enjoyed by people who use Three’s MiFi wireless router.
You simply plug in your dongle to turn it into a Wi-Fi hotspot. It means you’re not limited to using one Wi-Fi device at once; you could be using your laptop, tablet, games console, music player and smartphone on the same Wi-Fi connection at the same time.
What’s more, it’s great for sharing. So, if a friend pops over and needs to get online while you’re browsing too, you can connect them using your dongle adaptor.
In short, the adaptor allows you more flexibility when it comes to using your dongle: you can continue using it as you always have, but now you’ve got even more options when it comes to using and sharing your Mobile Broadband connection.

Three has unveiled an exciting new mobile broadband device designed to appeal to those who require a Wi-Fi connection at home but without the commitment of signing up to a fixed landline.
Known as the Web Cube, it is powered by HSPA+ speeds delivering download speeds of between 2 and 5Mbps – similar to current entry level fixed broadband speeds. The device has a range of 30 metres which can be used to connect up to a maximum of 5 wireless enabled devices such as smartphones, laptops, gaming consoles and tablets.
The Web Cube is powered by the 3G network and is ready to use straight out the box coming supplied with a mobile broadband SIM card.
Three have decided to test the device in a number of major cities in the UK before extending availability across the country.
Unveiling the Web Cube, Simon Kemp of Three said:
“It’s designed for the significant chunk of the population, especially renters and students, that have told us they want Wi-Fi at home, just without the phone line and the lengthy contract.”
